Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar

Indie games are a dime a dozen nowadays, and while RPG’s and platformers have seen their fair share of innovation, the RTS genre seems to be somewhat neglected considering the abundance of titles available. That’s not to say the offerings that have come out are below par however, and of all the indie developers struggling to make a name for themselves, Longbow Games has certainly begun to put their name on the map.

Following in the footsteps of their previous release, Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece, Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar will once again see gamers transported back to antiquity to take charge of famous campaigns in history. As the name implies, this time round you will impersonate Julius Caesar in his ten year conquest of Gaul, a war that saw him elevated to the rank of emperor.

Raven’s Cry

The thick fog could only conceal the impending peril for so long, as the indiscernible shadows drifting along the tumultuous Caribbean waters revealed themselves to be… pirates. Unfortunately for the populace that inhabited the misty island of Inez Sound, these were no ordinary pirates, but rather the notoriously bloodthirsty armada known as the Devil’s Tines. A merciless rampage through the village saw all the residents of Inez Sound decimated, save for the young Christopher Raven. The young boy, discarded and maimed, clutching his remaining hand, burned with a deep loathing for the men responsible for the massacre of his people and fuelled by that hatred, vengeance spurred him forward, putting his life on the line… as well as his soul.

Speed is what is driving the world today. People today have understood the need for speed and therefore the game Need for Speed has been one of the most uprising and popular games at least among the youth. The game has been very strategically planned and the graphics and the game play is just out of the world. With new technology enhancing, one might just feel that the wheel is in his hand. The feeling of the game is awesome.

Here we are going to examine and analyze the Shift 2 Unleashed. Shift 2 Unleashed is sure to spin your mind with the graphics and the noises that hurl about you. With the brake noise and the drilling sound, it seems as if the car is just the one you are sitting in or the one just beside you. A sensory assault is sure to torment you once you start playing this game. The car that you will be handling in Shift 2 Unleashed is sure to be a bit of wild handling. It’s more of a horror when you hear all those scratching sounds of the engine getting to you and then you feel as if you are really on the road driving on a track.

Shoot the way along!

Almost all games that are copied from other genres are never a hit and fail to surprise the public. People come up with new expectations and therefore not only does the product satiate the public with its good quality but should also stand up with its own design and choices. Syndicate however unfortunately falls under this category and tells a boring story of swapping allegiances and its likes.

It is the giant corporations that rule the world in the land of Syndicate. There is a deadly war that is prevalent for turf and technology. Eurocrop, which plays the major role as Syndicate’s protagonist creates this type of top tier technology in the form of Top Tier 6. Basically, the single story plot tells us the story of Miles Kilo, a man who rediscovers his origin. He is in a war against himself where he fights and questions the significance of the fight.

Mafia 2 – Underworld Unleashed

Wise Guys, lots of killing and lastly the fashion and love for wearing suits is what perfectly describes the mafia gang. The mafia gang was a gang well prevalent in many parts of the world, including America. Based on the chronicles of Mafia operations, the Mafia game was sketched with the intent to include a bit of reality in it. 

Now having said that, Mafia 2 is nothing but an illusion, a very far representation of reality, but it is thrill and fun. The main protagonist of the game play over here is Vito. Vito is a person who is presently returning from war and thus now decides to join the local mafia. From there on he carries on his usual mafia stunts which include killing, shooting and other such scary stunts. The dialogue and the story line is very well scripted and its all set to attack into a lightly accented macho threat.

Beautiful and Brutal – A deadly combination

Max Payne, a famous game which was released long time back, has been an all time favorite for most. Max Payne 3 has however shifted base from New York to sunny Brazil. Partly in flashback scene and partly as a story book sequence, as before it is the narration of the story by himself that gives that whole unique touch and the reason why it is a class different from other similar games.

Actually the main factor is that manly voice of Max Payne. Remedy Entertainment is no more associated with the game and now it has been taken up by Grand Theft Auto Games – Rockstar. This up gradation has brought about a change in the animation structure of the game with every move. Max Payne has now every freedom of moving around more like a free man and a lively one unlike the one in the previous versions where he used to stand still and shoot all his enemies. The whole idea of him moving freely in the new one to show his gymnastic skills while killing is enemies is simply great.

The real war begins here and now!

If you ever dream of real war with your own army and always had the dream to lead your team in the battlefield, then this is your dream game. Counter Strike was released as a game long time back and many say that it is the new version of half life. Irrespective of all that, the point is that unless you have a very high speed of internet. Because most of these games are played with the help of the LAN connection connecting your friends throughout and thus a high speed internet is a must.

Counter Strike has no out of the world logic in its game. It’s a simple cat – mouse game (or you may call it a war) with one side being the terrorist and the other being the counter terrorist. As a terrorist, your main aim will be to primarily plant a bomb in an area and make sure that the counter terrorist gang will not be able to defuse it at any cost. Your secondary target is however to kill all your enemies. Again if you are in the shoes of the counter terrorist, your primary aim will be to defuse the bomb planted by the terrorist and again the secondary target I to kill your enemies. As such it is not right to classify them as primary or secondary because what may seem to be the secondary target may be finished first. For example if you finish your enemies in around 5 minutes then there is no question of them planting a bomb as such and thus one target becomes null and void.
